I Gotta Feeling

There's a few lists on the internet of "You Know You're a 3 Dayer When...." These are a few of my favorites.
  • When a 5-mile walk is a “Stroll in the Park”.
  • When you walk 10 miles and think nothing of it, because you know you have done 60 before.
  • Every time a horn goes off you raise your hand.
  • Talking about blisters at dinner seems like a normal mealtime topic.
  • You’re proud, not embarrassed, to wear a fanny pack.
  • You wear your victory shirts all the time, hoping someone will ask about it so you can convert another 3-Day walker.
  • Every time you hear the Black Eyed Peas song “I Gotta Feeling”, you smile.
  • You are so used to port-a-potties that you revel in amazement when, after 3 days, you get to flush a toilet.
  • You start packing for every trip using Ziploc bags, trying to stuff an entire day’s clothes in each one.
  • You know where every public bathroom and every business that will let you use their bathroom is within 30 miles of your home.
  • You are looking forward to showering in a truck.
  • Your inbox shows “a donation was made on your behalf” and it feels like you won the lottery.
  • Your philosophy on blisters is that they don’t need chemo.
  • It’s all you can talk about for 10 months out of the year.
  • You can pick out 3-Dayers in training walking on the weekends because they walk with purpose.
  • When you cross the street, you are disappointed that people don’t honk, wave, or blast Disco music as they drive by, and that there are no children handing out popsicles or candy on the street corners.

The last song on my walk this evening was I Gotta Feeling... it made me smile and remember this list.
