How fast do you walk?

For the 3 Day we need to walk a minimum of 3 miles an hour. While training I've been paying attention to my speed a little more this year. When I walk by myself or with the Strutters on an offical training walk; I walk 4 miles an hour. If I walk with my fat dog Morgan (who thinks she MUST pee every 12th blade of grass or she won't find her back home or something) I walk 3.5 miles an hour. Why is this good to know? On the 3 Day the Pit Stops, Cheering Stations and Lunch are only open for so much time. If you're walking really slow you will get shuttled up to the front. So Darcy? How fast are you walking? I want to make sure we're training at close to the same speed.

  1. I walk at about 4 mph when I'm with someone, but drop to around 3.5 when I'm by myself and the weather is nice.

I'm going to stop and sit at the pit stops more. Even 5-10 minutes. Take my socks off, per suggestions for my blister issues. Cool my feet off.

  2. On my own I walk 3 mph. I try to walk faster with the other people I train with but I am sure I just slow them down.

  3. I'm sure you're doing great Darcy!

Morgan has been revolting on me lately. She will sit down and not move an inch.... unless it's back towards the house.

  4. I too find your dog revolting. How long of a walk are you taking her on? She can probably only do a mile with that belly.
